Juliet's balcony

Kitty was looking down the third floor's window. Oswald was reciting the balcony scene from Romeo and Juliet with both htheir children in his arms. A shiver ran up her spine. She was really confused. As much as she wanted to run down and hug her babies tight, she was still afraid of that man she would call her husband. Nygma had been very though on her, instilling his own fears and hate into her. Of course, he thought of it as a mean to protect her but it only messed with an already broken mind.

KaeleeKaelee over the phone and Eillean in the doorframe, telling her not to go down, she gave once last glace over the window. What she saw was bloodcurdling.

''Eillean! We need to let them in now!''

She pushed her out of the way and ran downstairs. The Angel Malthael moving like a dark fog towards her family.

Eillean ran downstairs, following Kitrina closely.

''Kitrina! Don't you open that door!'' She sighed. ''Not in that state of yours.''

She grabbed Kitty's arm quickly before she got too far away.

''Listen to me, please. You need to calm down. You might want to see them, but hurrying like that won't help you.''

''Eillean! They'll... They'll die out there, please. Open up! Didn't you see the shadow?!'' She paused having the feeling she knew exactly what it was. ''My grandfather. The Angel Malthael... The Angel of Death.''

''Calm down, sweety. Let me go there, alright?''

She looked towards the door, worried. And what if...?

''I'll go and see. If it's alright, I'll make a sign to you.''

She walked to the door and sighed. Eillean opened it, slowly and looked outside, watching any sign of danger.

Eillean could see the dark fog forming and coming from behind them, yet nothing seemed to tell what it was at first glance.

''Eillean?'' Oswald called to her. ''Kitty is with you? The kids are becoming restless. Can we go inside?''

Kitrina was anxiously waiting inside.

Eillean looked at the fog and then at Oswald.

''Come here. But! You'll let me give the kids to Kitrina so she could see them. It'll help them calm down.''

''Y- Yeah... Sure.''

Oswald walked in and Ophelia clinged to him, as if she was too shy. Norman, however, smiled brightly and reached for his mother right away.

''Close the door, Eillean. Quicklly! We need to put stronger wards on this home right now. We need all the help we can get... Call.. Kaelee, Magnus, the whole GCPD, the Court, the fucking Clave, I don't know!''

She was obviously freaking out and not once did she looked at Oswald or went close to him.

Eillean smiled at Ophelia and took her gently from her father's arms, giving her to her mother.

''Go back inside with them Kitty. I need to speak with Oswald.'' She paused, looking at the fog. ''And I recognise that kind of magic, sweety. You don't have to worry for that. Go spent some time with your babies.''

She turned back, facing Oswald and looked at him right in the eyes. She was far from being pleased to see him right here.

Kitty hesitated then nodded and left with both her kids. Ophelia started to cry for Oswald.

''Look, Eillean... I- I'm not here to make any trouble...''

She crossed her arms.

''Maybe you are not here to make trouble. But you surely brought it with you.'' She said pointing at the fog.

She sighed, feeling some pity towards Oswald. He just wasn't able to do anything to prevent people from hating him...

''Before you ask anything, that fog has definitely been created by some warlock...'' Her eyes became more harsh. ''Have you done anything to provoke the downworld?!''

''Th- The fog?'' He turned around to look at it and gasped. ''How long as it been there?!'' He shook his head. ''I don't know, I mean, how can someone provoke the Downworld, I was not born a Nephilim you know... I...'' He paused and he closed his eyes. ''Fuck...''

''I don't really know for how long it is here. But you just revealed were Kaelee's manor is...''

She forced herself to laugh a bit.

''May I suppose that fuck means you know what you could have done?''

''I...'' He sighed. ''I had no choice... It was him or me, Eillean. And... I knew him before he was a vamp so...''

Her eyes grew wide open.

''You had no choice?! NO CHOICE!!''

She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself.

''The downworld doesn't care you knew before or not. You are just another nephilim that killed a downworlder, just because you weren't pleased...

''HE TRIED TO HAVE ME KILLED!!''

He took a deep breath and shook his head before rubbing his eyes with his thumb and index and pinched the bridge of his nose.

''Look, whatever... What is done is done. Gabe had it comming.''

''Well, I'm still wondering how you could be alive with all the people you tried to kill or you have them killed...''

The mermaid looked down on Oswald.

''Now you can just leave this place. If you wanna get the children back, you'll talk about it later with Kitrina. For the time being and after everything you and Nygma put her through, just give her time with them.''

''Leave? But...''

There was distress in his eyes, like he was about to cry.

Kitrina was snuggling with her kids but Ophelia kept wanting to go back to her father, even started to crawl. Kitty was so mesmerized that she just watched her do it. She held Norman and followed her daughter back to the room where Eillean and Oswald were. As the kid saw Oswald, she stopped crying and smiled. Oswald's eyes grew wide, it was the first time he saw her crawl too.

Kitty looked at her husband for the first time. Her heart was pounding and she felt the anxiety rising. Her mouth went dry and he face paler than usual. He had betrayed her too, in a way. What was his true motive for killing Isabella? He chose to screw up his life, his family... And for what? The only 2 men she never had a problem being close to from the beginning were Harvey and him. It think a lot of time to fight her own fears of men regarding Edward. No other male has ever touched her since Maroni. Not even her own biological father. And now, after what Edward put her through, there was this uneasy feeling in her stomach at the idea of Oswald being close. As if her Spidey sense was triggered. She couldn't understand why herself as she watched the spark in her daughter's eyes, calling for him.

''..Hi...'' She said, nearly choking from her throat being so dry.
